One of the most beautiful Prague palaces, Wallenstein Palace was the first Baroque monumental secular building in Prague, built in 1623 - 1630. The two-storey main hall, with its ceiling painting of the builder of the palace, Albrecht of Wallenstein, as the god Mars in his triumphal chariot, is truly magnificent. The Knight's Hall, the mythological and astrological corridor, audience chamber, and study are also decorated with rich frescoes and stucco decorations by Baroque masters, B. Baccio di Bianco, B. di Campione, S. Galli, and others. In the palace chapel visitors can see a beautiful early Baroque altar, with a statue of Saint Wenceslas, dating from 1630.
